We know that your pet is not just an animal, but an extended part of the family. As a result, we offer clients professional and compassionate end-of-life cremation services to honour and respect your pet. No matter the size of your pet, from birds to large dogs, we are here for you. Mountain Meadows offers two choices for pet cremations; communal and private.
Communal Cremations
We will pick up your pet from the veterinary office and transfer to our facility. Depending on the veterinary clinic location, these pick-ups occur weekly or biweekly. We will then weigh your pet on a certified veterinary scale to determine the weight category. If it is close between categories we simply round down to give you the best value. Your pet is then cremated with other pets and the ashes are spread among the Mountain Meadows of southern Alberta. There is no tracking of your pet or return of any ashes to the owner.
Private Cremations
Many pet lovers choose to keep a special memorial of their pets. So, we offer private cremations for individual pets. Arrangements are made with your veterinary clinic for the pick up of your animal. The animal is then cremated alone and the ashes are returned in a complimentary scatter box. Clients may choose to upgrade to a special memorial keepsake from our selection of urns and boxes.
